At the Congregational Methodist Church Division of Church Ministries, we believe that biblical stewardship is a vital aspect of living out our faith. Stewardship, in its essence, refers to the careful management and utilization of all the resources God has given us—our time, talent, treasures, and the environment around us. It’s not just about financial giving; it encompasses all areas of our lives and our ministry.
Understanding Biblical Stewardship: Join Us at Our Upcoming Events
What is Biblical Stewardship?
Biblical stewardship acknowledges that everything we own is a gift from God. We are called to be stewards—caretakers who manage these gifts in ways that honor Him and benefit others. Scripture teaches us the importance of being faithful stewards. For instance, 1 Peter 4:10 encourages us to use our gifts to serve others as faithful stewards of God’s grace. This means actively engaging in our communities and using our resources in a manner that reflects God's love and mercy.
Why Stewardship Matters
Understanding and practicing stewardship allows us to cultivate a spirit of gratitude and generosity. When we engage in stewardship, we recognize our responsibility to care for God’s creation, including our families, communities, and the environment. Moreover, stewardship nurtures a sense of interconnectedness among us as we look out for one another and serve those in need—essential values of our faith.
